For more than thirty years, The Clan Ewen Society has been the voice of the clan. As the oldest established society representing Clan Ewen, it is still the best place to keep in touch with your heritage.

This brief timeline outlines some key events in the society's history:

1977	Inaugural Meeting of the Clan Ewen Society
1978	First AGM of the Clan Ewen Society – 26 members attended
1979	First Clan Gathering at Otter Ferry
1981	International Gathering of the Clans. Clan Ewen Society shared a tent with the McLachlans
1984	Wreath laying in Edinburgh to commemorate Samuel McEwen hanged for Covenanting Activities
1985	Clan Ewen Society attended the International Clan Gathering in Glasgow
1990	The Ceremony of the Unveiling of the Clan Ewen Memorial Cairn at Castle MacEwen
2000	51 clansfolk attend the AGM and their families attend the weekend
2009	The Clan Ewen Society hosts the MacEwen tent at the International Gathering of the Clans in Edinburgh; two delegates attend the Clan Convention The first inter-clan football match played between MacEwens and Frasers
